Catherine Zeta-Jones Supports Farm Protection Campaign

Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is backing a $1.6 million (GBP1 million) campaign to protect a farm in her native Wales. The "Chicago" star wants officials at Britain's National Trust to acquire the 600-acre Llyndy Isaf property in picturesque Snowdonia so they can preserve the site, which is home to threatened wildlife species.

"The National Trust plays a key role in protecting and managing the Welsh countryside," she says. "The beauty and landscape of Snowdonia is truly unique and we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to protect Llyndy Isaf in this stunning part of Wales for future generations."

"If we don't act now the threat of commercial development could spoil the tranquility of this special part of Snowdonia."

Actor Matthew Rhys has also appealed for help in raising funds to buy the farm, while $800,000 (GBP500,000) has already been donated to the cause.
